THE THYROID BODY TYPE  As explained in the July Health Tip, The Body Type diet is based on hereditary factors, and emphasizes the dominance of a particular endocrine organ throughout a person’s development. The body type classifications are determined for each person by the dominant action of this specific endocrine organ. This endocrine organ is genetically the source of one’s strength and vitality.

  • The Adrenal Body Type
The primary characteristics of the Adrenal body type include a medium height, strong build, triangular face, broad shoulders, and square palms with tubular-shaped fingers. The fingers of the adrenal type are about the same length as their palms. In general, most men are adrenal types. The typical Adrenal would be Bruce Willis.

  • Let’s see. I’ve winterized my house, picked my apples and put my garden to sleep. I’ve stacked my firewood, and I even got out my snow blower. I guess I’m ready for winter. But what about my immune system? Is it ready for winter?

  • We've been learning about Body Types. In August, we covered the Pituitary Body Type. The October Health Tip discussed the Thyroid Body Type. The Adrenal Body Type was reviewed in November. After taking a break in December to discuss the immune system, we will discuss the final Body Type—The Gonadal Body Type.

  • Exercises to Support Your Body Type Each of the four body types has an affinity for a particular type of exercise, which includes a combination of cardiovascular, flexibility, and strength-training exercises. Cardiovascular exercises are those that elevate the heart rate for a sustained period of time (20–30 minutes at your ideal exercise heart rate), and include exercises like aerobics, biking, swimming, dance, jogging, fast walking, and cross-country skiing.

  • Life in the middle of winter brings certain health challenges that can be easily remedied if we know some simple things we can to do to build up our health.

  • Spring has sprung, the grass is rising, I wonder what is on the health horizon?
Isn’t it wonderful to see green grass instead of white, grey or brown? It can
get a person excited about life. Springtime makes me want to clean my garage,
rake my lawn, and clean up all the debris from a long, cold winter.

Cleansing the arteries and veins of your circulatory system is accomplished by eliminating hydrogenated trans fats in your diet and adding essential fatty acid supplementation in the form of flaxseed oil and certified mercury-free fish oils. Both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are important to circulation. Omega-3s have been shown to reduce blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglycerides. Omega-6s, which are found in black currant seed oil, borage oil, and evening primrose oil as GLA, have been shown to reduce plaque inside arteries.

The vitamin B complex, which includes both the B-complex group (for stimulation) and the G-complex group (for relaxation). Vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid are necessary to reduce circulating homocysteine levels in the blood formed by the consumption of high amounts of animal proteins.
